While Mr. Liriano was throwing a no-hitter for the Twins Tuesday night, the MPR softball team was debuting its season by making the other teams feel like they have our number.

Well, actually they did. Had Our Shots rang us up for a 21-9 defeat, but it was a fun night and no one got hurt!

A few rookies had strong debuts: Drew Gerates had a great catch in outfield and a home run later on; Karen Galles also had some nice hits and field plays. Hans Buetow distracted everyone with his bright socks; well done, sir!

Pitcher Fred Child, who at one point struck out three batters over a five batter span, added his own puddle-rule home run. And Georgie the Dog made her debut at an MPR softball team.
