Cannon fodder?? Not on your life! Despite pre-season Softball Cassandras who
predicted doom and gloom, the team manages a solid .500 season. The Co-Rec team
finishes two games over .500 in the league’s “A” bracket (7-5) and falls just short of a
trophy in the league tournament. (Overall tourney record: 4-5.) Interest in the Men’s
team flags (low turnout, no tourney) but the undermanned team still finishes just one
game under .500 (5-6.) Hopeful trends: a female power surge; the futile search for a
Wick. Oddities: the team’s first conference on the mound (Greenly-L Wareham); an
ump with a cell phone glued to her ear. Notes: a return to the Rothman’s for the
banquet; a redefined Batting Champ category. Favorite food: Alfredo in a Box.
