The return of groups

Posted under Announcements

At times during the season, we will utilize the “group” system to determine who plays in the field.

Instead of being assigned to specific positions, players are placed in a group. Typically, a group consists of three players. They decide among themselves which two of the three will play in the field each inning. This results in 10 players for each defensive inning. When the inning begins, each player goes to a position on the field where he or she is comfortable playing. If more than one player goes to the same position, they work it out among themselves who will move to a different position. It may sound chaotic, but it has worked well in the past.
